If you love music and you are interested in a music career and want to develop your technical skills in music performance, this is the course for you.

You’ll get plenty of time to learn about the necessary skills to be a successful performing musician along with learning about the jobs available in the music industry. You will gain experience in recording, live sound, performing, song writing and analysing music. You’ll also have the opportunity to be involved in various gigs and have the chance to visit recording studios and meet industry professionals who will be able to guide you in your future career.

​This two-year programme will prepare you well for a career as a music performer, songwriter or recording and live sound engineer.

Method of assessment

You will be assessed on practical tasks, projects and productions, supported by a record of written evidence.

Assignments will be issued that reflect industry scenarios giving you the opportunity to submit work that will be industry ready.

You will work towards the completion of four units that will stretch your musical understanding and abilities. Progression routes include entry into higher education at prestigious providers such as Leeds College of Music, The British and Irish Institute of Modern Music, LIPA, Salford University and University of Derby.
