Together with supporting students’ academic aspirations, East Leake Academy provides a wide range of opportunities for individuals to express themselves, nurture existing talents or try something new. There are a wealth of enrichment activities available ranging from sport, to creative arts and music, to trips relating to key curriculum areas.
16 by 16
At ELA we are committed to supporting the academic progress, personal development and enrichment of every student within the academy. The ELA 16 by 16 entitlement is a pledge that all students will complete 16 essential experiences over their academic journey from year 7-11. Each task is designed to prepare our students for life in modern Britain and develop the skills required to take an active role in our community. Students have regular opportunities to revisit the pledge in tutor time. This is an excellent opportunity to celebrate and record success and for tutors to support students with their next steps. Please see the link below for further information.
ELA challenge
Many of our students at ELA engage in a range of exciting opportunities during school time and within the wider community. At ELA we want to recognise and celebrate these achievements. The ELA challenge is an opportunity for students to develop their skills and strengths and celebrate their achievements beyond academy life. Students will need to complete three challenges from each category and their form tutor will sign off each category. Students who complete a full category will be awarded with a pin badge and certificate in assembly. Please see the link below for further information.
Extra-curricular timetable
Our extra-curricular timetable is updated each half-term, detailing specific timings and locations for each club. Attendance at extra-curricular clubs is recorded so that as a community, we recognise and reward students who take a keen interest in developing new skills that reach beyond the classroom. Please see an overview of our extra-curricular offer and our extra-curricular timetables each term for 2024-25.
PE extra-curricular timetable
Join us for a variety of engaging and enriching clubs, where students can explore their interests and talents. Our club sessions are scheduled from 3.05pm to 4.15pm.
KS4 academic pursuits
We offer additional study support to students in KS4, enabling them to reach beyond the taught curriculum. These sessions run afterschool with subject specialists.
