Children in Need
Our sixth form students have put the fun in fundraising by dressing up in creative costumes for Children in Need. So far, they have raised an impressive £155 and counting, with the final total to be confirmed soon. A huge well done to everyone who participated and contributed to this fantastic cause!
Anti-Bullying Week
Anti-Bullying Week started with a burst of colour as students and staff celebrated Odd Socks Day. This initiative encouraged everyone to express themselves uniquely while raising awareness about the importance of combating bullying. At East Leake Academy, we understand that promoting kindness and respect is a year-round commitment. We are honoured to have earned Bronze School status in the United Against Bullying (UAB) programme. This achievement highlights our dedication to creating a safe and inclusive environment for every student. The UAB programme provides East Leake Academy with a strong framework for effective anti-bullying initiatives, helping us nurture a positive school culture through proactive strategies. On Tuesday 19 November, our anti-bullying efforts will continue with a workshop designed to further educate and empower our students.
Sporting success
We are delighted to share that Hannah, one of our talented year 10 students, has been selected for The Blaze Emerging Player Programme, part of the East Midlands’ professional women’s cricket team. This year, she also celebrated a major milestone by scoring her first 100. Hannah’s dedication and hard work have truly paid off and we couldn’t be prouder. Congratulations, Hannah!
Year 9 Pathways Journey Begins

This stage is a pivotal moment in students’ educational paths, offering them the chance to select subjects that align with their interests and future aspirations. Choosing the right GCSE and level 2 options is a significant opportunity for students to shape their academic journeys – the academy is here to support them every step of the way.
We invite you to join us for the year 9 pathways information evening on Wednesday 27 November. This event will provide insights into the various options available, allow you to visit different departments and equip students with everything needed to make well-informed decisions. Memorable moments from Hagg Farm residential trip
Our final group have returned from their action packed Hagg Farm residential trip. The students participated in a variety of activities that challenged their skills, built teamwork and created unforgettable memories.
In case you missed our last update, here’s the highlights:
- Outdoor Adventures: Immersed in the natural beauty of the surroundings, students took on rock-hopping exercises that tested their balance and teamwork. They also navigated rugged terrain during orienteering activities, developing their map-reading and navigation skills.
- Team Challenges: Students worked together on problem-solving activities, fostering their strategic thinking and collaboration.
- Thrilling Experiences: A nighttime walk followed by a campfire, complete with hot chocolate and marshmallows. The caving expedition was a particular favourite, where students braved underground, cheering each other on as they navigated the challenges.
The staff at Hagg Farm were highly impressed by the students’ behaviour and teamwork. The experience pushed students beyond their comfort zones, leaving them with a sense of accomplishment and memories that will last a lifetime. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making this trip a success!
