This week, we were delighted to welcome prospective students and their families to our sixth form open evening. Upon arrival, they were warmly greeted by our sixth form students, who handed out maps of the academy alongside the sixth form prospectus. These resources helped guide visitors through the many exciting displays and activities set up throughout the evening. As attendees entered the main hall, they were greeted with the melodic sound a student playing the piano, setting the perfect tone for the evening and a beautiful backdrop.
Each department opened its doors, offering a glimpse into the vibrant academic and extracurricular life at our sixth form. In every subject area, students were proud to talk about their subjects and share their personal experiences in sixth form, reflecting their enthusiasm and dedication. In food technology, our talented student chefs impressed guests by preparing and serving delicious canapés, showcasing both their culinary skills and creativity. Over in the science labs, live experiments engaged and captivated visitors, while in biology, a heart dissection demonstration offered a fascinating, hands-on experience. The entire building buzzed with energy as students, staff and guests filled every room. We hope that everyone who attended was able to get a true sense of the supportive and enriching environment we provide here in our sixth form.
The students participating in the upcoming Nepal trip hosted a cake sale to raise funds for their adventure. The cakes went down a treat and we are so proud of the support shown by all who attended. It was a wonderful way to wrap up the evening!
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the students and staff who worked tirelessly to make the evening such a success and of course, to all the families who took the time to visit. It was a truly wonderful night. We hope you left feeling inspired by the exciting opportunities that lie ahead!
