Comic Relief at East Leake Academy

From early morning until late afternoon, the academy buzzed with energy during the highly anticipated Comic Relief fundraiser. Adding to the excitement, students enjoyed a non-uniform day. Meanwhile, our 6th form students added a playful twist by arriving in their pyjamas.

The day began with a game of Traitors, inspired by the popular TV series, bringing students and faculties together in a collective effort for a worthy cause. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the teacher splash, organised by year 11 students. Brave educators embraced the challenge, much to the delight of cheering students.

In an incredible show of generosity, the academy raised an astonishing £1227.13! The funds poured in from various activities throughout the day, including bingo sessions, a delicious bake sale hosted by year 8 students, acoustic performances, and daring challenges by our principal, Mr Reid.

“We’re absolutely thrilled by the overwhelming support we’ve received from our students, staff, and the wider community,” said Mr Reid. “Comic Relief provides us with an opportunity to come together, have fun, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.”

“As students, it’s empowering to know that our actions today can make a real difference in the world,” shared Lottie, a year 11 student. “Events like these remind us of the power of community and the importance of giving back.”

The success of East Leake Academy’s Comic Relief fundraiser serves as a testament to the power of community and the impact that can be achieved through collective action.
