Stephane Luiggi visited the academy today (8 May) to announce the winners of the year 8 competition to review his Nottingham restaurant, French Living.

As part of their French lessons, the students were tasked with writing a review of the French Living restaurant aimed at enticing people to visit. The review had to be written in French and needed to include an English translation.

Stephane congratulated all the students on the exceptionally high standard of entries and explained why learning a modern foreign language is so important. He cited the fact that learning another language stimulates the brain and mental and cognitive abilities; having another language on a CV is attractive to employers; and that in a global world, being able to speak another language opens up doors to other cultures, fosters better communication and makes a person more accepting, tolerant and open to others.

Stephane is pictured here with the overall year 8 winner and runners-up.
