On Friday 1 July we bid a fond farewell to our year 13 students. In the morning, we held our leavers’ event with a delicious buffet where the staff and students could say goodbye, followed by a short presentation of light-hearted faculty awards presented by Mr Jackson and Mrs Slack.
Later in the evening, the students met at the Yew Lodge Hotel in Kegworth for their prom. They had missed their original year 11 prom due to lockdown in 2020 so they wanted to celebrate in style at the end of their time at East Leake Academy.
The evening’s entertainment was led by Mr Renshaw. At the students’ request, he ran one of his famous bingo sessions and organised a crazy quiz which led to spontaneous staff and student karaoke.
The year 13 students have made a fantastic contribution over their seven years at ELA and will be greatly missed by all the staff.
