East Leake Academy student, Jake Wills, has been selected for the England squad which will be competing at the mixed martial arts Four Nations Championships.

The three-day competition will take place from 14-16 July in the Ebbw Vale Sports Centre, Wales. The competition will see athletes from England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales compete in a tournament-style format.

Jake, who is ranked number 1 in his weight category, is hoping for victory at the tournament which would enable him to go on to represent England at the European Championships in Venice in September.

We are so proud of Jake’s sporting achievements and wish him best of luck in his forthcoming tournaments.

“Jake Wills is an extremely committed individual who sets an example of maturity and discipline not often seen from a young man of his age. He defines what it means to be a martial artist with his unwavering effort and commitment on a daily basis and is totally dedicated to his craft”

“Jake Wills is one of the most talented and hard working young athletes I have ever had the pleasure to coach or train alongside in my 30+ years of martial arts & combat sports, the world is his oyster and there is no doubt in my mind that he has the ability to fulfill his dreams. I am very excited to see him compete in the IMMAF / 4 Nations tournament in July where he will represent England for the first time “
