East Leake Academy PE teacher, Mr Tebbett, along with a bunch of 14 friends, have decided to challenge themselves by running a 50km run across the Norfolk Broads on 12 June this year in support of the charity, Facial Palsy UK.

Mr Tebbett is attempting the challenge after one of his close friends unexpectedly developed a condition called Ramsay Hunt Syndrome before Christmas last year. This caused him facial paralysis, and one of the sources of support he received was from Facial Palsy UK.

Small charities such as Facial Palsy UK provide much needed support to people and their families who suffer from facial paralysis. The condition can happen to anyone at any time and doesn’t discriminate. Unfortunately, charities like this one have suffered significantly following the pandemic and are really struggling to generate funding to keep their services operating and are in desperate need of support if they are to avoid closure.

To repay them for their brilliant work, the group are planning to raise significant funds for them through their run. To support Mr Tebbett and the group further you can read more about their story on the following link: https://bit.ly/luketebs.
