We hope you are all well and have kept yourselves busy since the academy closed in March. Although you have missed out on the examination experience this year, I am sure you are all eagerly awaiting your results, which will allow you to move onto the next stage of your education, employment or training. As in previous years, we look forward to welcoming you into the academy to collect your exam results on Thursday 20 August.
To ensure that social distancing can be maintained we have allocated time slots according to your surname. It is vital that you stick to these time slots to ensure that it is a safe and comfortable experience for all.

Please follow instructions from the members of staff on duty on where to collect your results. Only students will be allowed into the academy building; parents/carers will be asked to wait outside and adhere to social distancing guidelines. We will be implementing a one-way system; please enter through the signposted entrance to the Main Hall (side door), making sure you use the hand sanitiser when entering the Main Hall. After collection of results, you will then exit the building via the other side door off the Main Hall. Once results have been collected we request that you leave the academy site and continue to adhere to social distancing guidelines. If you are unable to collect your results in person, you can give written permission for someone else to collect them on your behalf.
Enrolment to ELA Sixth Form will be via an online portal – more information will be provided on results day. If you have any questions regarding sixth form enrolment, please email sixthform@eastleake-ac.org.uk.
There will be designated members of staff available to discuss any issues with you on the day.
We would like to remind you how your grades have been awarded this year:
Step 1 – Along with other schools and academies across the country, we submitted centre assessed grades for each student in every subject.
These are the most likely grades your teachers thought you would have achieved had you taken the examinations. We also submitted a rank order based on how you were expected to perform in each subject. We used a range of assessment information such as coursework, mock examinations, general tracking records and performance throughout the course to determine your grade and ranking.
Step 2 – Exam boards checked the grades submitted by East Leake Academy for consistency using a model developed with regulators. Examination Boards have used the information received from us and will award grades accordingly.
Exam Boards have worked hard to ensure that all grades for all academies and schools have been awarded fairly, making sure they are in-line with previous national results in each subject, comparable to East Leake Academy’s previous examination results and the prior attainment of students at Key Stage 2.

We would ask yourself and parents/carers to check the academy website and emails regularly as we will use these methods should we need to provide any further updates.
Despite the unprecedented experience that you have had this year, we are still looking forward to celebrating your successes with you. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday.
