Dear parents and carers,

Appointment of East Leake Academy Principal

During the past few months, I have very much enjoyed my time at East Leake Academy. It has been an extremely positive start to the academic year with lots of exciting activities taking place. I am enjoying getting to know students and staff and working with the team to introduce and develop best practice from across our Trust and beyond.

Following the successful Ofsted in October, the Trust felt it was important to give stability to the students and staff at the academy by appointing a substantive Principal. Therefore, a few weeks ago, I began working with governors to start the recruitment process.

I am now pleased to announce that Mr Francis has been successful in securing the position and has accepted the role.

Many of you will already know Mr Francis and that he has been at the helm of the academy as Acting Principal since the departure of Mrs Hardy at the end of the summer term.  Mr Francis has a strong background as an educational leader, having worked at the academy since 2010, and having previously been Vice Principal responsible for teaching, learning and curriculum development.

I am extremely confident that he will continue to drive forward standards, lead the academy in a positive direction and build on the excellent work that has already been implemented since September.  As well as bringing continuity and stability to the role, Mr Francis also offers a wealth of knowledge and experience of East Leake Academy which he can utilise to ensure all our students achieve to their highest potential.

I hope you will join me in congratulating Mr Francis on his new position and look forward to meeting as many of you as possible here at ELA in the near future.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Vernon
Senior Principal
