This term, year 12 students have had the opportunity to reflect on their leadership skills during enrichment sessions led by Mrs Purdy (Assistant Principal for Personal Development at ELA) and Ms Aisthorpe (Assistant Principal at Tuxford Academy and Strategic Lead for People Development at Diverse Academies Trust). The sessions focused on developing communication and listening skills essential for effective leadership.
Year 12 students have celebrated many achievements this term, including:
- Organising Christmas parties
- Hosting the ELA revue
- Reading and academic mentoring for younger students
- Participating in Young Enterprise initiatives
- Educational visits to Auschwitz and Parliament
- Fundraising for Children in Need
- Supporting extra-curricular clubs and workshops
Each student made a postcard pledge to further develop their leadership skills over the coming months. Key takeaways from the sessions included:
