Pupils across the region have been putting their artistic and creative skills to good use by taking part in East Midlands Airport’s competition to design a flag for the entire East Midlands region, and we are delighted that ELA has been shortlisted as a finalist. Well done to Year 8 Harry whose design will represent ELA.

How you can help

Harry’s flag is one of five selected to go through to a public vote as follows:

  • Week commencing 24 June – the shortlisted designs will be published on the airport’s social media channels and the public can vote for their favourite.
  • Winning design announced Mon 1 July (this artwork will be turned into a flag)
  • New flag unveiled week of Mon 8 July

All flags produced by children across the region will be displayed in a public gallery at the airport.
