The Rotary Club of Loughborough recently celebrated its annual Key Stage 3 Young Writers’ Competition, a cherished tradition that has inspired creativity in young minds for over thirty years. This much-anticipated event offers our KS3 students the opportunity to showcase their imagination, storytelling skills, and literary flair.

Open to all Key Stage 3 pupils, entries are judged on originality, language use, and overall impact. This year’s competition saw some fantastic submissions, and we’re proud to congratulate the following students on their achievements:

Year 7 Winners:

  • Kezia T
  • Alston C
  • Cal F

Year 8 Winners:

  • Horace L
  • Lucy A
  • Sophie T

Winners were awarded certificates, book vouchers, and valuable house points in recognition of their efforts and talent.

Special thanks go to Mr. Tim Jackson (Vice Principal ELA) and Mr. Stefan Bullivant (Deputy Head of English) for their support and encouragement. We also extend our gratitude to Mr. Ian Sharpe, President of the Rotary Club, and Mr. Bruce Eastman, Youth Liaison Officer, for continuing this wonderful initiative. It was also a pleasure to welcome the incoming president, Mr. Martin Weedon, who attended the awards evening.

We are proud of all our young writers and look forward to next year’s competition!
