Sophia and Sophie: English Youth Ballet performers

Sophia and Sophie have been selected to join the prestigious English Youth Ballet and will be performing in the timeless ballet, Giselle. This performance will take place at the Nottingham Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall. We are incredibly proud of their achievement and can’t wait to see them shine on stage. Benji: Chess prodigy

Benji has earned a place at this year’s EJCOA National Youth Championships final, representing England and Nottinghamshire. The final will be held from Friday 5 July to Sunday 7 July. His strategic skills and dedication to chess have led him to this significant milestone. We wish him the best of luck!

 

Evie and Calvin: Track and field champions

Evie and Calvin have been selected to represent Nottinghamshire at the prestigious English schools’ track and field championships in Birmingham, scheduled for 11, 12 and 13 July. Their hard work and commitment to athletics have paid off and we look forward to cheering them on as they compete at a national level.

 

Eden: Cricket captain

Eden, as the captain of Nottinghamshire County Cricket U13 Girls, has displayed incredible leadership and skill on the pitch. Her dedication and passion for the game are truly inspiring. We are excited to see her continue to lead her team to success.

 

Rafa: Cricket leader

Rafa is having a phenomenal season, representing Leicestershire U13 Boys, captaining the MCC Foundation Nottingham hub at U13 and playing for the U15 and U16 teams. His achievements across different age groups and leadership roles highlight his versatility and dedication to cricket.

 

Evie: International football sensation

Evie has captured the spotlight on the international stage by representing Gibraltar at the UEFA U19 Women’s Euro qualifiers. Her exceptional skills and commitment to football have brought her to this prestigious platform, and we are immensely proud of her achievements.

 

Hollie: Gymnastics star

Our incredible post-16 student, Hollie, has been chosen to represent Great Britain at the EuroGym Gymnastics Festival in Norway this summer. Her talent and hard work have earned her this fantastic opportunity, and we can’t wait to see her perform on the international stage.

 

Brodie: Biking champion

Brodie is excelling in biking.  Recently, he won the BSCA (British Schools Cycling Association) National Hill Climb Championship 2024 for under 15s. His dedication to the sport and remarkable achievement makes us all incredibly proud.

At East Leake Academy, we offer a broad range of extra-curricular opportunities to help students develop as confident, well-rounded individuals. Students have access to many activities, including clubs, educational trips in the UK and overseas, leadership and enterprise activities, careers fairs, and university visits. They also benefit from hearing from visiting speakers, such as authors and business professionals. Additionally, programs like Young Enterprise and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards (DoFE) further enrich their educational experience.
