Last week, East Leake Academy came alive with colour, flavour, and creativity as we celebrated our annual culture day.
This special event is all about recognising the diversity within our school community and reminding ourselves that, whilst we are a united community, each of us brings unique heritage, traditions, and experiences that make our academy truly exceptional.
Students were encouraged to take pride in their culture, living out our core values of empower, respect, and care throughout the day.
Highlights included:
• A house flag competition during PDL , showcasing creativity and teamwork
• A bake sale featuring delicious treats from around the world, hosted by our talented sixth form students
• Lunch specials in the canteen, including delicious curry pots
• A lively year 7 Bollywood workshop hosted by sixth form student Aasha-Milli
• Students who recently travelled to Nepal delivered an inspiring assembly, sharing what they learned and how they hope to motivate others to embrace new experiences
• Cultural themes in lessons across faculties, from exploring global music and art to discussing historical and scientific achievements from Nepal
Culture day is a chance to learn, share, and appreciate the many cultures that enrich our academy.
A huge thank you to all staff and students who made this day such a success!
