This morning we welcomed James Naish, Rushcliffe’s Labour MP, to East Leake Academy.

He delivered an informative talk to our year 9 students, speaking about voting and explaining that the voting age is being lowered to 16, as well as the importance of hearing from younger voices.

‘It’s a really exciting time, it’s so important that young people are being heard.’

We’re very grateful to be able to offer our students opportunities to learn more about politics directly from an MP, and we’re incredibly proud of the mature and thoughtful questions asked throughout the session.
